► To reach Lille

• You can reach Lille downtown (Lille Flandres railway station) in 20 min by shuttle bus (“Bus Aéroport” towards “Lille-Flandres Gare”). The bus waits in front of the airport. Fare: one way: 5€; return ticket: 8€. Departure every hour, from 5 A.M to 10 P.M.
• Taxi is the best option if you go directly from the airport to the Ascotel. The Cité scientifique is very close to the airport.

By train
As the gateway of Europe, Lille is at the hub of a strategic railway network. The Lille-Europe and Lille-Flandres stations, situated in the city centre, are served by several major high speed train (TGV) lines. Therefore, train will be the optimal choice from Paris, London, Amsterdam, Köln and Brussels. 

• Paris is one hour from Lille by Eurostar TGV (30 services per day)
• London is 1h 20 min away by Eurostar
• Brussels is 38 min away by Thalys, Gare Midi/Zuidstation (20 min from the Brussels airport by direct shuttle train).
• Köln and Aachen: take the Thalys TGV to Brussels (1h47) or direct Intercity trains (ICE) (2h16). Change in Brussels to Lille Thalys.

► Once in Lille

The automatic metro line (the VAL: automatic light vehicule) is the world first automatic subway (1983), 60 stops covering 45 km.
From the railway station, the Line 1: Villeneuve d'Ascq-4 Cantons <> Lille CHR B Calmette (Regional Hospital) will take you in 12 min to the Ascotel hotel.

• Plus, for shorter journeys (3 stations only), a cheaper ZAP ticket: 0.70€ can be purchased.
